1. What Orbs is

Orbs is a chat website where AI helpers ("orbs") answer your messages. By making an account or using Orbs, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Orbs.

2. Orbs is AI and can make mistakes

Every orb is an AI, not a person. Answers can be wrong, out of date, or incomplete. Double-check anything important, and don't rely on Orbs for medical, legal, money, or safety decisions. Ask a qualified person for those.

3. Who can use Orbs

You must be at least 13 years old to use Orbs. If you're 13 to 17, you need a parent or guardian's permission, and Kids Mode stays on for your account. Orbs isn't for children under 13.

Kids Mode

Kids Mode gives kid-safe answers, runs an AI safety check on every message and reply before showing it, and blocks sharing personal info like phone numbers and addresses. Adults can turn it on for an account with a parent PIN. No filter is perfect, so parents should stay involved.

4. Your account

Keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens on your account. One account per person.

5. Rules

Orbs is powered by Anthropic's Claude, so you must follow Anthropic's Usage Policy. You also agree not to:

• use Orbs to hurt, threaten, harass, or scam anyone
• do anything illegal with it
• try to hack, overload, or break the site, or get around its limits
• use bots or scripts to send messages, or resell access to Orbs

We can suspend or delete accounts that break these rules.

6. Powered by Claude

Replies come from Anthropic's Claude models through Anthropic's API. Orbs is an independent project. It isn't made, run, or endorsed by Anthropic. Anthropic's own terms for the API are Anthropic's Commercial Terms.

7. Your messages

What you write stays yours. You let Orbs store it in your account and send it to Claude so the orbs can reply. Please don't share passwords, ID numbers, bank details, or other very private information in chats.

Paid plans

Orbs Plus, Plus Plus, and Plus Plus Plus are subscriptions that renew automatically every month or year until you cancel. You can cancel or switch plans anytime in Settings → Plan → Manage subscription; you keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for. Payments are processed by Stripe. Prices, credits, and features can change, and we'll tell you before a change affects what you pay. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission to buy a plan.

8. Changes and availability

Orbs has a free plan and paid plans. Orbs may change, slow down, set limits, or stop at any time, including when its budget for Claude runs out. We may update these terms. If we make big changes, we'll show them on the site, and using Orbs afterward means you accept them.

9. No guarantees

Orbs is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. As far as the law allows, Orbs and its owner aren't responsible for losses caused by using it or by mistakes in its answers.

What we collect

• Account info: your email, and your name and profile picture if you sign in with Google or add a name.
• Your chats and settings: your messages, the orbs' replies, pinned orbs, and model picks, so they can follow you to any device.
• A daily message counter, only if the site has message limits turned on.
• Your age group (under 13, 13 to 17, or 18+) and whether Kids Mode is on. A parent PIN is saved only in a scrambled form that can't be turned back into the PIN.
• A safety log: when Kids Mode blocks something, we save the type of problem (like "personal info"), which orb, and when. Not the message itself.
• Reports: if you report a reply, we save that reply and your reason so it can be checked.
• Thumbs up and down: your vote, which orb and model, and anything you choose to add (a reason, or the reply if you tick the box).
• Memory (Plus Plus and up, if you leave it on): short notes about you that you told the orbs, like your nickname or hobbies, so they can remember them in later chats. You can see, add, and delete them in Settings → Memory → Manage, or turn memory off. It's never used in incognito chats or Kids Mode.
• Usage totals: how many messages and web searches Orbs handles each day and about how much they cost. Not what the messages say.

We don't run ads, we don't sell your information, and we don't use tracking or analytics tools.

How it's used

• To sign you in and keep you signed in.
• To save your chats and settings to your account.
• To send your messages to Claude so the orbs can reply. Messages go to Claude with an anonymous ID, not your email.
• If you turn on web search, Claude searches the web for you. Only the search words go out, not your account info.

Services that help run Orbs

• Google Firebase handles sign-in and stores your account and chats. See Firebase's privacy information and Google's Privacy Policy.
• Anthropic runs the Claude models that write the replies. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy and Anthropic's Usage Policy.
• Stripe handles payments if you buy a plan. Your card details go straight to Stripe; Orbs only keeps your plan, its status, and a Stripe customer ID. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Vercel hosts the website. See Vercel's Privacy Policy.

Who can see your chats

Inside Orbs, only you can see your chats. Other users can't. The person who runs Orbs can technically open the stored data in Firebase, but only looks at it to fix problems or when the law requires it.

Keeping and deleting

Your chats stay until you delete them. In Settings you can delete all your chats or your whole account at any time. Incognito chats are never saved.

Voice typing

The microphone button uses your browser's own speech-to-text. Orbs only receives the text. Some browsers, like Google Chrome, send your voice to their company's servers to turn it into text, so their privacy rules apply to that part. Read aloud also uses your device's built-in voices.

On your device

Orbs remembers your theme and sidebar choice on your device, and Firebase keeps you signed in. Files you attach stay on your device for "Try again" until you refresh. That's it.

Kids and teens

Orbs is not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them, as required by the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If someone says they're under 13 when signing up, they can't use Orbs. If you're a parent and think your child under 13 made an account, email contact-orbsai@proton.me and the account will be deleted.

Teens 13 to 17 need a parent or guardian's permission, and their accounts always use Kids Mode.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. Big changes will be shown on the site.

Pick an orb

Each orb is good at one thing: Byte for tech, Chef Miso for cooking, Abyss for games, Pixel for websites, Quill for stories, Nova for homework, Beat for music, and Lingo for languages. Nebula handles everything else.

Models

Koa is fastest, Lumina is the everyday pick, Chrysalis thinks deeper, and Mythos is the most careful. Each one always uses the newest Claude model in its family.

Effort

Low answers quickly. Higher effort makes the orb think longer before answering, which helps with hard questions but takes more time. Koa doesn't have effort settings.

Files and folders

Tap + to send pictures, PDFs, or code and text files, or a whole folder. You can also drag files onto the chat box or paste a picture. Files go with that one message, so send them again if you ask about them later.

Voice typing

Tap the mic and talk. Tap it again to stop. It works in Chrome, Edge, and Safari.

Saving and syncing

Your chats save to your account, so they show up on any device you sign in on. Each orb can have as many chats as you want: tap an orb (or New) to start a fresh one, and find old ones in Recent chats. Tap the pencil to rename a chat. Pin your favorite orbs with the star.

When an orb asks a question

If your question is unclear, the orb might ask what you mean first. Tap one of the buttons or just type your answer.

Fix or redo things

Tap the pencil under your message to edit it, and the orb answers again. Tap the circle arrow under a reply to get a new answer. On older replies it asks first, because the messages after it go away.

Read aloud

Tap the speaker under a reply to hear it. Tap it again to stop. It uses your device's built-in voices, so it's free.

Thumbs up and down

Tell the orbs how they did. Thumbs down lets you say what went wrong.

Web search

Tap the globe next to + to let the orb look things up online, like news, prices, or scores. It shows the sites it used. There's a daily limit, and it's off in Kids Mode.

Show thinking

Lumina, Chrysalis, and Mythos think before they answer. Tap "Thought for…" above a reply to see a summary of how they thought. You can turn this off in Settings.

Incognito chat

On the home screen, tap the glasses at the top right before you start. That chat won't be saved and disappears when you leave it.

Orbs is AI, not a person

The orbs are computer programs. They can sound friendly, but they aren't your friends, and they can be wrong. Double-check important things with a trusted adult or a reliable source.

Keep your info private

Never share your full name, address, school, phone number, email, passwords, or photos. Kids Mode blocks messages that look like personal info.

If something feels wrong

If a reply is upsetting, weird, or not okay, stop and tell a parent, teacher, or another adult you trust. Tap the flag under any reply to report it.

If you're having a hard time

Talk to a trusted adult. In the US you can call or text 988 any time to reach someone who can help. In an emergency, call 911.

Use it to learn

Orbs is great for explaining things, but do your own homework. It's how you actually get better at stuff.

For parents

Kids Mode adds kid-safe instructions to every orb, checks each message and reply with an AI safety check before showing it, blocks personal info like phone numbers and addresses, and keeps a log of blocked topics (without the messages) for the site owner. No filter is perfect, so please stay involved in how your kid uses Orbs.

Orbs use these in all your chats. Delete anything you don't want remembered. Incognito chats never save or use memory.
